Sacked supreme court vice president still under probe

The case involving a sacked Chinese supreme court vice president was still under investigation, an anti-corruption official said Friday.

Gan Yisheng, deputy head of the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI), said the case involving Huang Songyou, former vice president of the Supreme People's Court, was still "being investigated".

He declined to give more information at a press conference but promised to announce the result after the probe was completed.

Huang was removed from his post on Oct. 28 by Chinese lawmakers at a bi-monthly session.

The reason for his removal was not made public.

Huang, now 51, is a native of south China's Guangdong Province. He became vice president of the Supreme People's Court in 2002.
