The Communist Party of China's (CPC) top anti-graft official on Friday called for improvement of anti-corruption laws and regulations.
He Guoqiang, secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, told a national conference that efforts should be exerted to make relevant laws and regulations more scientific and effective.
"Some outdated laws combating corruption and upholding integrity should be terminated in a timely way and those with faults should be revised," said He, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau.
He said anti-graft laws should be strictly implemented and violators must be severely punished. The official called for strengthening supervision over implementation of such laws to cultivate a legal environment in fighting corruption.
