Bagatur was elected as chairman of north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region government Monday at the second session of the 11th Autonomous Regional People's Congress.
Bagatur, an ethnic Mongolian with a master's degree in political economics, was born in February 1955 in northeastern Liaoning Province.
He joined the Communist Party of China in 1981 and has served as secretary of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Regional Committee of the Communist Youth League of China.
He was appointed acting chairman and vice chairman of the regional government on April 3, 2008.
