Hu Chunhua was elected as governor of north China's Hebei Province on Monday at the second session of the 11th Provincial People's Congress.
Hu, born in April 1963 and a native of Wufeng, Hubei Province, joined the Communist Party of China in 1983.
He once served as deputy secretary of the Tibet Autonomous Regional Committee of the CPC and vice chairman of the Tibet Autonomous Regional government. He became the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China in 2006.
He was appointed deputy governor and acting governor of Hebei on April 15, 2008.
