New Liaoning official appointed

Chen Zhenggao was appointed vice- and acting governor of Liaoning Province on Saturday, the provincial legislative body said.

Chen, previously Party chief of Shenyang, received the post at the 35th session of the standing committee of the 10th Liaoning Provincial People's Congress.

The provincial legislature also approved the resignation of Zhang Wenyue, former governor of the province.
