Wu Xinxiong, acting governor of east China's Jiangxi Province,
was elected governor of the province by the provincial legislature
on Monday.
Wu, 58, was elected to the post at the fifth session of the 10th
Jiangxi Provincial People's Congress.
He was appointed acting governor of the province last
October.
Wu, a native of Jiangyin City, east China's Jiangsu Province,
received a bachelor's degree of chemistry from the Nanjing
University of Technology in 1977, and joined the Communist Party of
China (CPC) in 1979.
He has served as deputy secretary of the CPC Jiangxi Provincial
Committee, vice governor of the province and secretary of the CPC
Nanchang City Committee since January 2003.
