Organizations on the Chinese mainland have expressed their desire to help Taiwan fight severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS).

The All-China Federation of Trade Unions sent a letter Saturday expressing its sympathy and good wishes to the Taiwanese workers who are now threatened by SARS.

The federation said in the letter it was prepared to donate high-quality anti-SARS goods to Taiwan.

The head of the All-China Youth Federation delivered a speech Sunday, saying the organization is pleased to help build a safe and healthy place to live for the 23 million compatriots in Taiwan.

The All-China Women's Federation also sent its sincere greetings Sunday to the women of various circles in Taiwan, saying that it is willing to offer any help possible to prevent the spread of SARS there.
