Seven New SARS Cases, Two More Deaths in HK

An additional seven patients confirmed to have severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and another two old-aged persons died of the disease Saturday, according to a press release jointly issued by the Department of Health and the Hospital Authority.

In another direction, 20 patients recovered from the disease Saturday, with the total patients who have recovered from the disease and have been discharged from public hospitals amounting to 1,035.

Two patients, a 79-year-old man and a 73-year-old woman, died of SARS, bringing to 212 the total number of SARS-related deaths in Hong Kong.

There are currently 427 patients in hospitals in Hong Kong, of whom 89 are recovering patients who are in convalescence and preparation for discharge.
