The Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee has promised to guarantee the "democratic rights of Party members" in order to improve Party building.
The pledge was made in a document released yesterday, which details plans to fight corruption and improve democracy within the Party.
The document guarantees Party members have the right to supervise and obtain information about Party affairs and participate in elections.
It included a promise to allow both Party members and the public to nominate candidates in grassroots Party elections.
Auditing economic responsibilities of major Party leaders, the government and State-owned enterprises would be perfected, said the document.
