Li Changchun, member of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Political Bureau Friday watched the performance by 122 choruses from nationwide to mark the 60th founding anniversary of the People's Republic.

The performance, one of the 15 major cultural and arts programs in the capital to celebrate the National Day, was held at the National Aquatics Center, known as "The Water Cube", one of the main venues of last year's Beijing Olympic Games.

The singers sang a large number of well-known revolutionary songs in China, including the best-known proletarian song "L'Internationale" and some Chinese classics.

Also among the audience were Beijing's Party chief Liu Qi, director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee Liu Yunshan, and State-councilor Liu Yandong.
