Five-year old panda named Yuan Yuan successfully gave birth to her first cub.

Shortly after the delivery, Yuan Yuan began to nurse her baby, leaning against the wall of the nursery. The attendant said the cub was born at 5:53 pm, is a female and weighs 151 grams.

Yuan Yuan was naturally paired during the spring but the mating did not work. Thus staff artificially inseminated her later, resulting in this fall's cub.
