A series of products related to the panda-based animations "Chao-kou-ai" debut at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding on April 29, 2008.
The panda named "Jingjing" is the archetype for Jingjing, one of the mascots of the Beijing Olympics. This time, animators in Chengdu, the capital of southwestern China's Sichuan Province, paired with artists from Taiwan to create five cartoon figures based on Jingjing and her four sisters.
The products in Chengdu include toys and music composed by Adam Hsu Chang De, a musician from Taiwan. Similar products have also been launched in the Taiwan market.
The brand name "Chao-kou-ai", literally "very cute" is a popular term among young netizens.
