South Korea will host training courses at its research institutes for Mexican environmental workers as part of a new deal to boost bilateral cooperation in green economy.

The courses include improvement of environmental performance, emission reductions, green economy and mitigation of climate change, Environment and Natural Resources Ministry said in a statement on Thursday.

The agreement is a good opportunity for Mexico to learn and share knowledge with South Korean scientists and technical workers and to develop joint projects, Environment and Natural Resources Minister Juan Rafael Elvira Quesada was quoted by the statement as saying.

South Korea is also supporting Mexico in the consolidation of the Center for Sustainable Economy, which will focus on macroeconomic planning, the organization of green growth and low carbon consumption, said Elvira, who is attending global climate talks in South Africa.
