As the world waits for the opening of the summit in Copenhagen, many experts are weighing on whether or not the conference will produce a significant breakthrough.
Sticking points remain between rich and poor nations, but a United Nations environmental expert, says that reaching an agreement is not impossible.
Achim Steiner, UNEP Executive Director, said, "While there is a gap that still stands between what the intergovernmental panel on climate change or science tells us we have to do and what is on the table, that gap has narrowed and we actually believe it has narrowed significantly. There is still a significant gap but people overestimate the impossibility of actually closing that gap."
