At present, there are over 1,000 Siberian tigers at the Siberian Tiger Park, the largest Siberian tiger breeding and field training center in the world, according to the park.

The park has used DNA testing and strict population control to ensure the survival of the species, the park said.

Siberian tigers, also known as Amur or Manchurian tigers, are among the world's 10 most endangered species and mostly live in northeast China and eastern Russia.

About 400 Siberian tigers are believed to be currently living in the wild, of which about 20 live in northeast China.

China established the Siberian Tiger Park in 1986 with eight Siberian tigers.
