China quake center reports 6.5-magnitude quake in Molucca Sea

An earthquake measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale jolted Molucca Sea at 12:05 p.m. Beijing Time (GMT 0405) Monday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.

The epicenter, with a depth of 20 km, was monitored at 0.9 degrees south latitude and 126.9 degrees east longitude.

The Hong Kong Observatory said the quake was a 6.8-magnitude quake while the USGS put it as 6.6 magnitude.
