5.1-magnitude quake hits near east coast of Honshu, Japan

An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale jolted near the east coast of Honshu, Japan at 1507 GMT on Sunday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 49.80 km, was initially determined to be at 38.8708 degrees north latitude and 142.1035 degrees east longitude.
