Singapore Airlines has announced the cancellation of two flights flying between Singapore and Bali, Indonesia on Thursday, joining a number of carriers in the region announcing changes to flights to and from Bali due to the threat of volcanic ashes.
In addition to the canceled flights, two other flights flying between Singapore and Denpasar on Thursday were delayed to Friday, the airline announced.
The Mount Bromo in East Java has been active in recent days.
Several other airlines had also canceled or diverted international flights to and from Bali, including Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific Airways and Australia-based Jetstar.
Indonesian aviation authority said it has sent out advisory to airlines to warn them about the ash situation, though the airport remained open on Thursday.
