Wednesday's magnitude-5.3 earthquake and aftershocks in western Georgia have not affected several pipelines traversing the South Caucasus country, the owner and operator of the pipelines says.
A BP statement released Thursday in Baku, Azerbaijan, said that the earthquakes did not have any disruptive impact on the regular operations of the oil and natural gas pipelines.
The pipelines include the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and Baku-Supsa oil pipeline and the Baku-Tbilisi-Ersrum natural gas pipeline, the statement said.
A BP project manager gave assurances that the pipelines were not damaged by the earthquakes that occurred near Vani in the west of Georgia.
