Indonesia will host the annual meeting of Commission for the Conservation of Southern Bluefin Tuna (CCSBT) at Bali province in October, an official said in Jakarta on Thursday.
Agus Budiman, director of fish resource at the Ministry for Maritime and Fisheries, told Xinhua that the meeting will be preceded by a related scientific meeting in July where scientists will provide inputs.
He said that at the annual meeting, all members and non-members will report development on how they catch blue fin tuna.
"The annual meeting will be very important for us as it will issue new binding resolutions on blue fin tuna we catch. It's not about production matters anymore but it's more about conservation, " said Budiman.
Budiman said that Indonesia will host the Working Group on Fisheries of Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation in Bali this year.
"The meeting will discuss about fisheries trade," said Budiman.
