5.0 magnitude quake hits China's Tibet

An earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter Scale hit Nyima County of Naqu Prefecture in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region at 2:31 a.m. Beijing Time Thursday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.

The epicenter was monitored at 30.8 degrees north latitude and 86.5 degrees east longitude with a depth of about 160 kilometers, the center said.
