China's meteorological authorities on Thursday forecast a new cold front will reach northern China over the next three days, bringing snow and temperatures dropping as much as 14 degrees Celsius in some areas.
Starting Thursday night, cold air is to first affect the northwestern Xinjiang region before it gradually moves eastward to cool Gansu, Qinghai, and Ningxia, the National Meteorological Center said.
Temperatures in these regions are forecast to drop by as much as 8 degrees Celsius.
Further, northern Xinjiang is expected to see light or moderate snow, while Inner Mongolia and northeastern Heilongjiang Province may be hit by snowstorms in some areas.
Temperatures in these regions could drop by 14 degrees as the cold front comes through over the next three days, according to the forecast.
