The China Mangrove Conservation Network (CMCN) is granting small funds of up to 2,000 yuan (about US$293) for projects that protect mangrove and seashore wetlands.

In 2008, CMCN won the top British environmental award, the Whitley Fund for Nature (WFN). CMCN is putting all the money from the award into mangrove protection and education in China. CMCN aims to increase the initiative of China's NGOs and raise public awareness about mangrove and wetlands conservation.

FAQ:

What kinds of projects are eligible for the fund?

All kinds of projects are encouraged, as long as the activities involved are related to environmental education and the protection of mangroves.
