Cartoon enthusiasts will have chance to earn money as much as 300,000 yuan (about 42,300 US dollars) at the 14th Shanghai Television Festival in June.
The local newspaper Xinmin Evening News reported that festival organizers said on Friday that they were recruiting entries for original animation creations as well as five-minute-long cartoons.
Besides the the monetary prize, winners also will receive assistance with getting their works produced.
This year's Shanghai Television Festival, which runs from June 9-13, will issue several awards for animation, including gold and silver awards for domestic and foreign animation and an award for the best domestic animation creation.
The annual Shanghai Television Festival is an international television competition approved by the Standing Committee of the Shanghai People's Congress.
