Actress-turned singer Li Bingbing promotes her song "Distant Love" for the upcoming film "The Children of Huang Shi" in Beijing on Monday, March 3, 2008.

For award-winning film actress Li Bingbing, developing her singing hobby into a career is a piece of cake - film producers trust her on soundtracks.

The actress sang the title song for her latest film, "Linger," a rare romance feature by Hong Kong crime film director Johnnie To. She has also reportedly been invited to underscore the upcoming action film "Forbidden Kingdom," in which she will collaborate with Jackie Chan and Jet Li.

And most recently, she managed to contribute to a film solely as a singer. "The Children of Huang Shi," a World War Two film set in China directed by Roger Spottiswoode and starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Chow Yun-Fat and Michelle Yeoh, held a press conference in Beijing on Monday to promote the music for the film.

Music video of one of the film's songs, "Distant Love" was screened, while Li Bingbing surfed on waves of praises at the press conference.

She told the Beijing News that she was going to release a full-length album in two months, putting together all the film music and some new pieces.

"The Children of Huang Shi" will premiere at the end of this month in Huangshi City in central China's Hubei province.

Li Bingbing, 32, won the best actress award at last year's Huabiao Awards, the top official award for Chinese films, for her performance in "The Knot."
