Taiwan veteran singer Tsai
Chin performs a solo concert in Guangzhou, on Friday, September 14,
2007.
It seems like a one-woman show; there is no one except Tsai Chin
on stage.
However, she was not alone. For two nights on September 13 and
14 in Guangzhou, the Taiwan mandopop legend used her infectious
voice to bring back the prominent singing stars from an 80-year
history of Chinese pop music.
Tsai Chin has designed her concerts into a musical flashback,
reprising the nostalgic tunes of stars from 1930s Shanghai, 1960s
Hong Kong and 1970s Taipei.
At the end of her second show, Tsai Chin arrived at the 1990s,
when the Chinese pop scene was an era of her own.
The prolific singer of over 40 albums said the concerts were her
tribute to Chinese pop music.
