"Cats", one of the classical pieces by British composer of
musical theatre Andrew Lloyd Webber, will come to China again early
2008.
A performance contract was signed on Thursday between Webber's
The Really Useful Group and Chinese performing companies from 7
Chinese cities. It means the musical will be touring in seven
Chinese cities, including Beijing, Macao, Guangzhou and Shenzhen,
the Star Daily reports.
It's going to be performed in Beijing Exhibition Theatre from
Jan. 19 to 27 next year.
The good news for Chinese musical fans is that the prices of
tickets will be much lower than the previous run. The lowest priced
ticket will be only 80 yuan, or about 11 U.S. dollars, and the
highest will be 880 yuan, or 116 U.S. dollars.
Organizers explained that touring performances helped to cut the
cost, which lowered the price of the tickets.
