Chinese actress Jiang Qinqin and her actor husband Chen Jianbin
have visited some families of a recent flood-ravaged village in
southwest China's Chongqing municipality, hometown of the renowned
actress.
The couple stars went to see babies of the families, leaving
with them needed gifts such as milk powders during their stay on
Saturday, the Sohu website reported.
The report said Jiang Qinqin returned to her hometown as an
ambassador, helping raise funds for rural mothers and babies, a
welfare program launched by China's Central Television or, CCTV's
Movie Channel. The tough living conditions of the flood-stricken
families made the actress, now also a young mother, burst into a
lot of tears.
Jiang Qinqin says she hopes more people will join hands together
and help the poor mothers and babies in the flooded areas and make
every baby grow up happily and sound.
