The first of four advertisements for action movie star Jet Li's
new charitable foundation was unveiled on Tuesday.
Jet Li is set to officially launch his "One Foundation" project
on April 19. The name demonstrates the star's ideas to encourage
people to donate one yuan (US$0.13) a month.
The 15-second ad features a little girl writing "1" with the
background of the foundation's logo.
Jet Li reportedly worked actively with veteran producers and
participated heavily in making the series to ensure the ads
accurately display his ideas.
He will also appear in one of the series, which will soon be
aired on major television stations and on the Internet.
Jet Li has planned the project for years, hoping to help youth
suffering from mental health problems, as well as victims of
natural disasters.
Collected funds will be sent to the needy via the Red Cross
Society of China.
Sources say Jet Li, who is also the Red Cross ambassador, has
donated one million yuan (US$129,391) to the foundation.
Entertainment superstars including Jay Chou, Andy Lau, Peter Chan
and Xu Jinglei have also contributed to the organization.
