Young Chinese pianist Li Yundi has been invited to be the
ambassador for this year's Hunan TV singing contest "Happy Boys."
The new season is an all-male affair, with contestants vying for
the title of "Happy Boy," the counterpart to the all-female version
"Super Girls," a runaway hit over the last three years.
Li Yundi attended a press conference held in Changsha, the
capital city of central China's Hunan province, on Friday to
announce his official engagement in this program.
The vice president of Hunan TV, Liang Ruiping, explained they
selected Li Yundi as the ambassador of this new season for his
sunny healthy image and the outstanding achievements he has made in
music.
Li Yundi also expressed his honor to be a model for young people
and encouraged contestants to present their best performances on
stage.
Since the pianist spends most of his time performing abroad, he
can only star in a TV promo for "Happy Boys" and can't attend other
promotional activities.
