Ruby Lin, Li Bingbing and Fann Wong will compete for the role of
the heroine in an upcoming Hollywood science fiction film with a
working name of The J and J Project.
Chinese action stars Jackie Chan and Jet Li are set to team up
for the first time for the film, which was partly inspired by the
classic Ming Dynasty novel, Journey to the West.
However the plot is completely different to the book and the
action jumps from ancient to modern times. Jet Li will play the
Monkey King in an ancient setting, while Jackie Chan will play Monk
Sandy in a modern setting.
Huayi Brothers in China say they have signed a contract with a
Hollywood company to be one of the producers of the movie. They
will select the lead actress from the three Huayi Brothers
actresses, namely, Ruby Lin, Li Bingbing and Fann Wong.
Jackie Chan is currently shooting Rush Hour 3 and Jet Li
is busy with Blood Brothers. The J and J Project is
scheduled to start shooting in April in Shanghai.
