Film star Li Yapeng has hinted that his wife, Chinese pop diva
Faye Wong, may retire from show business.
Attending the inauguration ceremony of watch Porsche Design, Li
said Wong had stayed home to look after their daughter. He said she
would not be able to attend any public events in the future.
When asked whether Faye Wong would retire from singing, Li
didn't answer directly but said, "I am a traditional man, so is my
family. I think a husband should work outside the home to support
the family, while his wife stays home to take care of the family
members."
The last time the big name pop star made a public appearance was
at the end of last year, when she and husband Li Yapeng held a
party to mark the founding of their charity to help children born
with cleft palate.
The Yan Ran Angel Foundation, named after the couple's daughter,
seeks to help children under 14-years-old get surgery. It was
launched after Wong and Li's five-month-old daughter Li Yan
recovered from her own cleft palate surgery.
