Inspired by NBC's hit comedy TV series "Friends" a group of
Shanghai white-collar employees filmed their own stories and are
screening them on a Website, reported the Shanghai Evening
Post on Monday.
The idea first occurred to a female employee, nicknamed Xun
Xiang, when she though about how many jokes and fun she and her
colleagues shared during their lunch breaks. "My colleagues and I
are all fond of 'Friends' so I thoughts if I record funny scenes
from our daily lives it’ll amuse many people," Xun said.
She then looked to cooperate with Mofile.com, a video sharing
site, to upload their work and picked up six out of 1,000 sign-ups
for the show after she advertised on the website. According to the
advertisement, all the cast members devote their weekends to the
show and remain composed when telling jokes!
"They need to showcase their personalities in front of the
camera," said Zheng Kai, the show’s director. The comedy’s title
translates to "Soul Partner." Zheng works in a local computer game
company and it's his first effort at shooting a comedy by digital
video.
A developer offered them a four-bedroom apartment in Songjiang
District and in exchange the production team must air the property
company’s advertisements during the show.
"We've screened two episodes on the website and will adjust the
scripts according to audience responses," Xun said.
