Nearly 20 female entertainers and models from Taiwan have been
involved in overseas prostitution police and investigators have
found.
The latest issue of Next Magazine reveals a list of
names of those under investigation including a female entertainer
surnamed Hsiao and a woman who gained her celebrity status through
a beauty contest.
Taiwan-based ET-News reported that police were investigating
three cross-border prostitution groups. One of them operates within
Taiwan. Several Taiwan female stars and models are being accused of
being involved with the prostitution ring. With the help of their
agents meetings with clients were arranged at five-star hotels.
An unnamed official with a Taiwan investigative agency claimed
that those involved, supermodels and famous
entertainers, charged from 20 to 300,000 Taiwan dollars. The female
star surnamed Hsiao is being investigated and was reported to have
charged 300,000 Taiwan dollars.
The stars and models involved in the case are expected to be
summonsed after the Spring Festival.
