Hidden Wonderland Huilong

Huilong Scenic Spot is located at the Huilong village 25km northwest of Huixian. It is regarded as a provincial level tourist attraction.

The morning we went there it was overcast and foggy. The mist covered the mountain just as a shy girl hides in loose clothes, reluctant to reveal her beauty. The huge rocks and steep cliffs directly next to the road were a magnificent sight.

After a long journey up the mountain's zigzagging roads, we finally arrived at a plateau. On our arrival, the sun came out and the thick clouds dispersed. The green mountains appeared like supernatural entities gleaming in the mist. We were temporarily stupefied before excitedly beginning to take pictures, afraid of missing this short-lived sight which would soon again be hidden by the clouds.

After staying on the plateau for a while, we took a cable car to the foot of the stairs leading to the famous Lord Peak (Laoyeding).

The stone stairs consist of over several hundred steps. Our guide told us to try and count the number of steps as we ascended. However, no one managed to calculate the exact number, as it was such a long and exhausting climb.

Arriving at the top, I was quite out of breath. And what little breath I had left was taken away by the beauty of the view.

The sea of clouds were like a white belt around the waist of the green mountains. The mist ascended around the mountains' bodies before disappearing. I was completely enchanted by this wonderland. Closing my eyes, I felt so relaxed that for a second I even had the impulse to jump into the sea and become as one with nature.

People usually tend to be attracted by more material beauty. But after a trip to the paradise of Huilong, I feel that I have a better understanding of the true essence of beauty.
