The sanitation department in Xiamen City of east China's Fujian Province has designed a public toilet map to help tourists and local residents find restrooms more easily. Xiamen now has more than 200 public toilets in the urban area. That is adequate but the problem now is that they are all located in out-of-the-way places and have no obvious signs.
Besides restrooms, other environmental sanitation facilities, like sewage disposal stations and sprinkler stops, will be signed clearly on the map.
The map will be handed out to taxi and bus drivers. It will also be placed on street signs.
Many big cities like Shanghai and Hangzhou already have public toilet maps.
