China to Apply Three World Heritage Sites

China is hoping to have three more world cultural heritage sites designated by the United Nations this year.

China is hoping to have three more world cultural heritage sites designated by the United Nations this year.

These include Gaojuli imperial city together with tombs in northeast China's Jilin province.

Also included in the application to the United Nations are Shengjing Three Tombs and Shenyang Palace Museum, both in northeast China's Liaoning province.

Gaojuli, a county from Korean peninsula, invaded West Jin Dynasty and occupied Fuyu imperial city more than one thousand years ago.

China has the third largest number of World Heritage Sites, a total of 29 among the 730 listed worldwide.
