The 2004 China tourism and food expo will be held in the city of Guilin, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
Sponsored by the municipal press and publication bureau and the Guilin cookery association, the expo will run from May 8 to 15.
An official with the organizing committee said that the expo would display local famous dishes, snacks and desserts.
Guilin's scenic spots would also be introduced to the public in the expo and some objects were expected to be sold, the official said.
He hoped that the expo could introduce to the world Guilin's special food, history and culture, and boost its tourism.
A subtropical city, Guilin enjoys the reputation of having the country's most beautiful scenery.
