Priceless Bronze Pig Head to Be Displayed in GZ

Starting from 21st this month, four Chinese national treasures including a bronze monkey head, a bronze ox head, a bronze tiger and a pig head will be displayed in Huangpu Park, Huangpu district, Guangzhou.

The pig head, after wandering outside China for more than 140 years, was found and bought by Hong Kong magnate Stanley Ho last year.

The other three bronzes, ox head, monkey-head, and tiger-head, caused a great sensation when exhibited in Guangzhou in 2003.

These four bronzes, with other 8 still missing, representing the 12 zodiacs in China, were created in Qing Dynasty and originally stood in Yuanmingyuan Garden owned by Qing loyal family.

The bronzes, showing perfect combination of Western and Chinese arts, holding a very important position in the history of Chinese sculpture.

Together on show with these four bronze treasures are 10 other lost-and-found rare cultural relics, gold buddha statues of Sui-Tang Dynasty.

The exhibition will last ten day from March 21 till March 31. Free admission.
