Three 'Golden Weeks' Planned for 2004

Chinese people will continue to enjoy three "Golden Week" holidays next year.

The three week-long holidays are scheduled for the Spring Festival in late January, the Labor Day in May, and the National Day in October.

The golden week holidays were first implemented by the Chinese Government in May, 2000.

The new vacation schedule helps boost the economy and spur the development of the tourism industry.

This year's week-long holiday around the National Day witnessed new records in revenues from tourism.

Major tourist destinations around the country saw close to 90 million visitors, bringing tourist revenue to nearly 35 billion yuan, or over 4 billion US dollars.
