Lufthansa to Start Flights from Guangzhou to Munich

Lufthansa German Airlines announced Wednesday that Guangzhou will be its fourth Chinese destination from Feb.1, 2004, after Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong.

Lufthansa will launch five weekly return flights between Guangzhou and Munich via Shanghai, bringing to 31 its number of flights from Chinese cities each week.

Lufthansa's Airbus A340-300 aircraft will depart Guangzhou every day except Friday and Sunday at 20:35, arriving in Munich at 06:15 the next day. The return flight leaves Munich every day except Thursday and Saturday at 21:00 and lands in Guangzhou at 19:15 the next day.

Germany is the largest European investor in Guangdong Province with 200 German companies based in the province. Guangzhou is twinned with Frankfurt and is known for hosting dozens of trade fairs every year.
