A TV crew that had been out of contact in the mountains of south China's Yunnan Province managed to walk out of an unpopulated zone it had entered, safe and sound, today's Beijing Youth Daily reported.
Shao Bing, one of the crew who has a leading role in the 20-episode TV serial drama "Sheng Si Ji Xian" (Limit between life and death), is now in Dali, Yunnan, for a rest, his assistant told the newspaper Monday by phone.
He had a fever, the assistant added.
The 11-member group was reported yesterday to have lost phone contact with the producers of the TV drama since entering the 6,300-meter-high White Horse Snow Mountain last Saturday.
According to Qian Yanqiu, director of the TV drama and leader of the group, the crew entered the mountain on horseback last Friday guided by some locals.
However, it was forced to walk off the mountain after refusing the demands of local guides, who kept asking for higher fees.
Qian said the group members were angered by the demands and decided to find the way back themselves after finishing the day's shooting.
But they took a wrong turn and had to walk all night to exit the zone. The area is out of mobile telecom service zone.
