China Southwest Airlines (CSA) would resume its flight between Osaka and the capital city of Chengdu in southwestern Sichuan province starting early next month, according to a CSA source Tuesday.
Due to a slump in ticket sales for its Japan route earlier this year, CSA suspended the Chengdu-Osaka flight before the Spring Festival, or the traditional Chinese rural new year, which fell on February 1.
Since more Japanese tourists are expected to visit Chengdu after the festival, CSA has decided to resume the flight beginningon March 3.
A Boeing 737-600 and a Boeing 757 will fly the route on Mondaysand Thursdays, departing Chengdu at 7:10 hours, arriving in Osaka at 11:10, and returning to Chengdu at 16:40.
In addition, CSA has moved its Chengdu-Tokyo flight from Thursday to Friday and has added an additional flight to the Lhasa-Kathmandu air route from the end of March.
