A section of a cross-China expressway was completed in central China's Henan Province on Monday, adding 49.96 kilometers to the expressways in the province.
Beginning in August 2000, the project has cost 1.3 billion yuan (some US$160 million) and has been connected to three other expressways to become part of the Taiyuan-Macau Expressway, which is being built from Shanxi Province in the north to Macau in the south.
So far, Zhengzhou, capital of Henan, has been connected with 17 cities in the province by expressway. The province now has 1,231 km of expressways.
