Marriott International Inc, the world's largest hotel operator, said it plans to more than double the number of properties it has in Beijing by the 2008 Olympics.

The company will have 11 hotels in Beijing by the Games' opening ceremonies, up from five now. It will open another 20 hotels in China through 2010, Marriott said in a statement.
