The Macao International Airport logged 500,921 passengers in April, seeing a record monthly passenger handling, according to statistics issued by the airport on Wednesday.

 

However, the airport's cargo movement dropped 22 percent year-on-year in the month, standing at 14,896 metric tons, according to statistics.

 

The airport management dues the decrease of the cargo handling mainly to the competition produced by the booming of the air cargo business in the neighboring Pearl River Delta region.
