More than 500 delegates from the Chinese mainland have arrived in Taipei to attend the Cross-Strait Taipei Travel Fair, to be held at the Taipei World Trade Center on Friday.
Zhang Xiqin, head of the delegation and vice chairman of the China Tourism Association, said the delegation aims to promote tourism communication and cooperation across the Taiwan Strait.
"The delegation will show the Taiwanese some typical mainland scenic spots, and hold business and social gatherings with friends from the Taiwan tourism industry," Zhang said.
The mainland tourism industry delegation arrived in Taipei on 13 different flights, according to local media reports.
The four-day expo has attracted more than 500 people from the mainland tourism sector. This is a new record for cross-Strait tourism exchange activities.
