Greek Hotel Runs Chinese Website to Attract Tourists

Located on the largest island part of Greece, Crete Island, Apollonia Beach Hotel has recently opened a Chinese website in an attempt to prepare for the upcoming tourist season, which promises to be busy, especially for Chinese.

The Chinese version of Apollonia Beach Hotel's website is the fourth version catering to international tourists, opening just after the hotel's French, English and German versions.

In a telephone interview, the manager of the hotel said that the splendid culture of ancient Greece, alongside the graceful Aegean Sea, has appealed to a hiking number of Chinese tourists. According to statistics, during the next 10 years, Chinese tourists will energize the development of tourism worldwide.

The manager said Apollonia Beach Hotel is the first Greek hotel to run a Chinese website, establishing the first ever Chinese language website in Greece.

Still, he added, the content of the newly-opened Chinese site needs to be enriched if it wants to attract more visitors. As of now, it mainly serves to introduce the hotel, along with some basic booking services. New additions to the site in preparation include information on the geography of Crete, other tourist guides and a section on local lifestyle.
