Among the 2,300 public and private museums in China, few specialize in traditional costumes.
One of the first such costume museums in the country was the Museum of Ethnic Costumes of Beijing University of Clothing Technology, which was founded in the mid 1980s.
It is open from 8:30 am-11:30 am on Monday and Tuesday, and 1:30 pm-4:30 pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Other places to glimpse the traditional garb include the China Fabrics Museum in Nantong of East China's Jiangsu Province, Ningbo Clothes Museum in Ningbo and the China National Silk Museum in Hangzhou, both of East China's Zhejiang Province.
