Macao Launches Int'l Gaming Show

An International Gaming and Entertainment Expo was held in Macao on Thursday at the Macao Tower, a multi-functional conference building.

Some 100 international gaming businesses displayed their products covering gaming facilities, casino security systems, surveillance systems, bank-note checking equipment, high-tech chips and audio-light facilities.

Organizers said the three-day show was expected to be attended by around 1,000 professionals and experts in the gaming industry from countries and regions including the United States, Spain, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Japan, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Vietnam and Hong Kong.

Macao, a region with a population of over 480,000, has a gaming-business history of 150 years. A total of 19 casinos are currently on operation here.
